Our mission is to bring together all those who have an attachment, an affection, a love for Oukout. A small village in Casamance, Senegal, Africa.
An Akut is a citizen of Oukout.
As an association, we promote solidarity between members of the Oukout diaspora, support various projects, offer a real listening and assistance structure for members of the Oukout diaspora in difficulty, as well as support during difficult moments in life such as death or the repatriation of a body.
We are also committed to helping new arrivals integrate harmoniously into their host country, through cultural exchanges and awareness-raising initiatives.
We support development projects that benefit the village and commune of Oukout.

Solidarity, Sharing & Tips
Akut Diaspora shares services and advice to members of the Oukout diaspora, such as job offers, training, administrative procedures, volunteer opportunities, cultural events and discussion forums.
Our Association is a useful and practical resource for Oukout nationals seeking to integrate, train, inform, help and entertain themselves in their respective host countries.
It creates a real link between members of the diaspora, offering them a place to exchange and share ideas.

Akut Diaspora promotes exchanges between members of the diaspora and local residents, through dialogue, sponsorship, twinning, solidarity trips and joint initiatives.
Our Association is a platform for cooperation and development.
It strengthens links between members of the Oukout diaspora and our village of Oukout, supports the association's activities, mobilises the skills and resources of the diaspora and promotes the culture and values of Casamance.
Akut Diaspora tells the story of the village of Oukout, its traditions, culture, challenges and hopes, through testimonials, photos, videos and interactive maps.
This website introduces the village and commune of Oukout, its heritage, its inhabitants and its projects. A real educational tool for those wishing to find out more about Casamance and Senegal.
We want to highlight the diversity and richness of Casamance, its history, music, dance, literature, crafts and traditional games.

Families settled in ‘Felup’ country came together in successive waves to create a village society based on the tutelary genies of the Búbajum Áyi kingdom. Like the other villages in the kingdom, Oukout is the product of a large-scale migration at very different times.
